Just what we want to see, another Thursday Night Football game between two sub .500 teams. This will be the second meeting between these two teams in the last 18 days. Matt Rhule can’t wait to spit all over the Falcons like they’re a grey Baylor tank top. The Panthers beat up on the Falcons so bad that they had to fire their beloved head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons are a dumpster fire of an NFL team, they are constantly losing in embarrassing and hilarious fashion. How do you see the Flacons blowing it this week? Hopefully that will make this TNF football game a little less painful than every other week even though the Panthers can be a pretty boring team to watch. UNLESS… we see a certain running back this week who we have all been missing. A man by the name of Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey is listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Falcons. Don’t count on him being back but there is a chance we get to see this maniac run loose.
Both of these two teams run defense are in the bottom half of the league. From a fantasy standpoint expect Todd Gurley, Mike Davis, and CMC (if he plays) to earn you some serious points this week as they did in the last matchup. Expect a massive week from Teddy Bridgewater and anyone catching the ball from him. Doesn’t matter if it is Robby Anderson or third string tight end, Colin Thompson, he is going to make the Falcons secondary look like a peewee football team. Throwing for 313 yards and snatching up 27 fantasy points last time they played, expect nothing less from Teddy. On the flip side of things, Matt Ryan has been torching defenses. Averaging a crazy 354.5 yards in his last two games. Not bad for a guy that is aging noticeably fast.
The Carolina Panthers are 0-5 ATS in their last five Thursday night games. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t have Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy Bridgewater has been immaculate against the spread. He has a record of 31-10 against the spread as an NFL quarterback which is the best out of any quarterback since 2000 with a minimum of 20 starts. He has earned the nickname “The Blanketâ€. Blankets are used to cover us up and to keep us warm, let Teddy B give you a warm feeling inside as you bet the Panthers to win the game and cover (-2.5). Although the last game between these two teams had a combined score of only 39 points, I think putting your paycheck on the over (49.5) is the smart move here. The last time they met up, both Jones and McCaffrey weren’t playing. This week we might get the luxury of having them both back.
