Naoya “The Monster” Inoue will be making his Top Rank debut tomorrow night against Jason Moloney. Based on the punches, it will certainly be a spooky night….for Moloney. Naoya Inoue is a three division world champion and is 19-0. His punches are thrown with such force, it looks as if he is shooting for a KO with every one. Moloney is no slouch though. At 21-1, he has almost all of his wins by KO. Even though every major governing body in the sport of Boxing has Moloney ranked as a top 5 fighter, William Hill has Inoue favored at -900 and Moloney the underdog at +600.
Inoue is arguably one of the best pound-for-pound fighters. Moving up multiple weight classes and dominating each time, he looks as though he could move up again with the power that he throws his punches with. Whether he will or not remains to be seen, but not many fighters have been up able to have success moving up one division let alone three. This will be one of the best fights of the year and one of the best the Bantamweight Division has to offer. I am going to go with Naoya Inoue to win this fight, and I do not believe it will go the distance. William Hill has the over/under set at 6.5 rounds, with the under set at -138 and the over at +100. I would take the over in this fight. I see this fight ending in the 8th or 9th round. Inoue will definitely come out strong, but will probably lose a round or two between rounds 4-6, and then he will end strong in the final rounds and the ref will have to stop the fight. In the end, Inoue will be 20-0 and arguably one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of all time. The only question remaining, in the words of the famous words of WWE Legend Bill Goldberg, “Who’s Next?”
