First thing’s first, let’s get the payment over with. If you’ve been living under a rock in the sports world, Andy and I bet each other a breakfast beer shotgun on the Ravens winning 4 out of their last 5 games. You can read more about that here. Or become a regular listener to our sports betting podcast, Bet Bath & Beyond, and get the information straight from the source. So, the Ravens lost to the Steelers yesterday, which puts their last 5 game record at 3-2. Now it’s Miller time!
So there you have it, I shotgunned a beer at 8am this morning because I’m a loser. I’m still a little buzzed. Ok, now let’s talk about the Ravens game yesterday because I need to address a few things.
1. RIP Ronnie Stanley – he’s our best OT and it sucks that he’s out for the season. It’s a good thing he just got paid and I hope he comes back stronger than ever. I know it was unintentional, but fuck TJ Watt.
So many emotions running thru my head. I’m thankful for all the love and support. I hate feeling like i let my brothers down. What I do know is God doesn’t make mistakes and I’m grateful for the bad days just as much as the good. Just another challenge to overcome. Truzzz ðŸ™ðŸ¾ðŸ§˜ðŸ¾â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ™ðŸ¾â€” Ronnie Stanley (@megatronnie) November 1, 2020
2. Matthew Judon getting ejected was total garbage. He DID NOT aim at the ref – he was trying to break free of the guy holding him back and accidentally hit the ref’s arm. That ref is SOFT AF. Refs get accidentally hit all the time in football, it’s literally in their job description. Context matters people!
3. Lamar had 4 devastating turnovers (2 INT, 2 FUM). This was the biggest and most deciding factor. At the end of the day, the game was close because Lamar chose the WORST times to give Pittsburgh the ball. His first interception was a pick six and the second was in our red zone, which led to an easy touchdown for the Steelers. He also fumbled in the Steelers’ red zone, which costed us a minimum of 3 points (Ravens lost by 4 points but were in FG range on their last drive of the game). If one of these three plays doesn’t happen, the Ravens win the game and I’m not slightly drunk on a Monday morning.
It sucks, but bad games do happen. We play the Steelers again in Week 12 on Thanksgiving night and it will be a great revenge game. I’m not worried, we have a very well-coached team with young, coachable players. We’ll bounce back. After all, same thing happened last year when we lost to the Browns in Week 4. Then we adjusted and went 14-2. I guess we’ll just have to do the same thing this year.
