I watched the best football game I had ever seen a few nights ago. The Miami Dolphins beat Vegas 26-25. From missed PAT’s, huge runs, big hits, questionable calls, if you didn’t tune into Saturday night football, go back and watch it.
One of the great storylines was Ryan Fitzmagic’ coming in after Tua Tagovailoa was benched. The first-year QB wasn’t playing great. He was pulled in the 4th quarter after only throwing for 94 yards and giving up three sacks. Throwing only 94 yards is a problem but not the biggest for Miami. They can’t form long drives; according to FO, Miami is ranked 24th in the league in yards per drive (31). Our offenses’ kryptonite has been developing long drives, and it showed last night. It showed all but in the 4th quarter in direct correlation with Ryan Fitzpatrick replacing Tua Tagovailoa. The 16-year vet showed why experience matters as he led the Dolphins to the stunning one-point victory including multiple long drives. In addition to multiple playoff-hope saving drives he had the best throw all year.
The question for Miami fans from South Beach to Seattle is who will start under center against the Bills in week 17? The answer is Ryan Fitzpatrick! When Tua replaced him in Week 8, it was the right call by Coach Brian Flores. Tua was healthy, and you don’t draft a first-rounder to sit him. The Bills game is the biggest of the year; if Miami wins, they make the playoffs for the first time in years. In a game of this importance, you need a vet leading the team out of the tunnel. Fitzpatrick started against the Bills in Week 2, where he threw for 328 yards and two TDs. He played excellently, and with the defense better now than in Week 2, Miami has a real chance at winning.
Tua Tagovailoa has been consistent but to beat the Bills, Miami needs some magic, some Fitzmagic!
After this wonderful holiday season I would like to thank, and dedicate this article to the moms and dads out there who gave their kids a great Christmas! Thanks, Mom and Dad!
