March Madness 2021: Women’s Final Four

We finally made it! The Final Four! It has been a long and crazy year wondering if we would still have an NCAA Tournament this year and how it would look. I do have to say, I am glad the NBA had a bubble because that is the step most sports took in order to allow games to be played. MLB did it, NHL did it, and then Men’s and Women’s College Basketball did it. I would say it has been a success and I have loved it! Three games are left. Two Final Four games and the Championship game. Let’s see who will be playing for the title on Tuesday night!

South Carolina vs. Stanford

In an almost all chalk Final Four, two number one seeds will face off for a chance to play for the National Title. The number one overall seed Stanford enters as a -6 point favorite, and I expect this game to be close as well. Both teams have dominated on their respective road to the Final Four. South Carolina just dismantled a Texas team that had pulled a monumental upset over number 2 seeded Maryland, and Stanford easily got past a National Championship Contender in Louisville. The difference in this game will be 3 point shooting and the Gamecocks ability to defend against it as well. The Cardinal shoot almost 40% from 3 and if they do not go cold tonight, Stanford could make a close game into a 10-15 point win. South Carolina needs to contest the three point shots and rebound well if they want to stay in this game and win it. Unfortunately for them, I am taking Stanford and them to cover. It has been a while since Stanford has been mentioned as a National Contender in the women’s game and quietly they have emerged as a team that could easily win the whole thing. I am excited to see if they can complete the return to glory and win National Championship, but they need to focus on Carolina first. Take the Cardinal and the cover.

Arizona vs. UCONN

First ever Final Four vs. 13th straight Final Four. Seems like an easy pick right? According to Vegas, yes. The Huskies enter as -13.5 point favorites. They are also playing their best basketball of the season at the perfect team. UConn looks as if they are becoming the team that won a millin games in a row again, but Arizona is playing its best basketball of the season as well and are hoping to pull the upset and continue their historic run all the way to a National Championship. In order for the WIldcats to have a chance, they have to hit their free throws. That has been an issue for them as they shot well under 70% from the line against Texas A&M and Indiana. It was not too big of an issue as they were hitting from 3, but in order to win a National Championship, free throws are important and always the focal point when looking back. Arizona is playing outstanding, but I do not think they are quite at the next level yet to topple one of the best teams yet. UConn will reach yet another title game and face an old and familiar foe in Stanford. Take the Huskies and take them to cover.

The season is almost over, but these last three games will be amazing! I am excited to see any matchup the Final Four gives us, and a Stanford vs. UConn final will be incredible as well! Hope your week as been good and good luck with your bets!
